Sunday Night Again

Well, once again the weekend has flown by and I had really really good intentions to eat well and exercise. Okay so 1 of 2 isn't bad. I ate pretty well but was lacking in the exercise department. As Robin mentioned we recently bought a house and ever since have been busy over-thinking things like carpets, appliances and variable versus fixed mortgage rates. So it seems this week will be chock full of more things to finalize with the new house but I am hoping to burn off some steam with workouts.

It really does make a huge difference in my attitude when I exercise. It's like the stress that builds up over the day is released at the gym and I end up going home way more relaxed.

I also haven't been blogging, sorry Rob. I promise to try harder. Juggling life is not always easy but it's important to remember that taking care of my body is a priority and the rest of my life can't be healthy if I'm not.

I plan to workout after work tomorrow and specifically want to do a double class to make up for my weekend slacking, although I did catch up on some much needed rest.

P.S. Love your recipe Robin, can't wait to make it.

FOOD

Food, I love food.
There is nothing I don't like and won't eat. Well almost nothing.
I am always hungry........
Lately I have been incorporating more fish into our dinner menue's.
Here is a 30 minute quick and easy dinner idea.
Preheat oven to 400.
Take frozen salmon filet's and brush with lemon juice, sprinkle salt and pepper and dill. Place in oven to cook in a covered dish. 30 - 40 min.
Then take Asparagus - trim and place in a baking dish, drizzle olive oil and balsamic over the asparagus and sprinkel with salt and pepper and parmesan.
Place in oven to bake for 10 - 15 min. beside the salmon.
Now, you can start a pot of salted water for some whole wheat pasta and once it starts to boil add the pasta and let cook until al dente. Usually 10 min on my stove.
On another burner, warm up a non-stick fry pan and add chopped tomatoes - as much as you like - no juices - just the tomatoes if you use a can. And 1 jar of prepared Alfredo Sauce - (this is the only high fat/calorie ingredient) You can get the lower fat versions - Warm in pan.
Take out your asparagus and add it to the warming sauce.
Drain pasta and add it to the sauce.
Remove Salmon from oven when done.
Serve Salmon perched on top of the pasta. I will even drizzle the salmon juices over the whole dish in the end.
MMMMMMMMMMM good.
Very healthy......and step class on Wednesday will burn the Alfredo sauce away!!!!
Portion size is the key.
I'm a firm beleaver in eating what you like and what you want as long as it has nutritional value to it. Just in moderation, and proper portion sizes.
Now, I must prepare myself for step class tonight.
Off to the torture chamber.

Busy Weekend

Wow, I had an insanely busy weekend with house shopping, seeing friends and family and of course exercising. Actually I went Friday night after work and then a friend of mine wanted to go Saturday morning. I agreed and am glad I did because we had a great time and the 2 classes we did flew by as they always do when you workout with a buddy. We did pump and flow so it was exhausting.

I realized another weight loss tip although it's really not healthy......stress. I think I lost 2 pounds this wekend trying to make decisions on buying a house. Crazy how when your mind is running on high speed you lose your appetite. I guess I learned I'm not a stress eater and all those times I said I was I was actually wrong. Anyway, no gym tonight as we are out and about but tomorrow I am planning on doing the pump class again and then step on wednesday. Crazy how we plan our lives away.

Sunny Sunday's

Girls you all know how it feels that first day of that special week!!! The cure is simply to ignore the aches and pains and work out those muscles at the gym. Plus lots and lots of water.
It would have been really easy to just not go today. But I hadn't been since Thursday. So guilt about not going won and I dragged my #$$ there and came home and had a nice long epsom salt bath, and voila!!!!!
I feel back to my usual self.
Now to enjoy the rest of this sunny day chillin at home.

Mental Workout

I swear house hunting is as exhausting as hitting the gym. We spent all night looking at places and trying to decide what we can compromise on as first time buyers. I would've rather been working out and desperately need to burn off the stress of making pros and cons lists. Indecisiveness is not a good quality. Okay off topic.......Back on topic, I really wanted at beer when we got home but I figured I didn't need the calories this late at night and the weekend is coming soon.

I am definitely hitting the gym tomorrow night after work. Either BodyPump or BodyCombat, I guess it depends if I'm feeling aggressive or not. LOL.

Summer is right around the corner and this is do or die.

Oops I Missed Step Class...

I missed that class last night, getting over the flu and had plans with a grilfriend in Orangeville.....I know I know excuses excuses. Either way I'm looking forward to next weeks class when I can face it with you Rob. This is by far the hardest class for me at the gym.

I do love the feeling afterwards though when your legs are like jelly and your arms have blotches of red all over them and you feel like you just cheated death......that is a good feeling. You know that the hour you took out of your life to workout was not wasted.

I think we need to think about setting some serious goals in the very near future.....especially with this blog as a way to report in and motivate each other and the potential one other reader out there. I'm going to start thinking about mine.

I don't know if any of you have seen Julia and Julia but I loved the bloggin in that movie and she made all those recipes in a year and I think we can shape our bodies with the motivation of people relying on us even if no one is reading this.

Woo hoo, go Robin and stacey!

Rant #1

Today is a rant day about Step class last night.
The story begins with last Wednesday class actually.
Stacey and I felt like it was a tough class. New training instructor did half the class and it was tough. But we did it and great for us.
So This week, I managed to convince my 15 year old to give it a go. So here we were eager and ready to go. In walks the training instructor and regular instructor and I knew it was going to be a tough class again.
Now, if you know step then you know that there is footwork, and music and alot of sweat. These two instructors prefer class to be alot of really fast footwork to really fast music with no chance to catch up if you are left behind.
Ten minutes in..........15 year old is bailing, gone, left the room. She couldn't follow the steps to such fast music.
That's how tough it was. I made it to the end but finished class doing the routine on the floor because I had no energy lift my foot to step up on that dredded platform.
So, I should be happy that I showed up my teenager, but this isn't how I felt at all.
I felt beaten up, and sad that my teenager will not ever try the class again.
Next week, is new release week, so we are hopeful that all will be well again.

Start the Chatter

So thanks to animated discussions held on a regular basis about going to the gym, the classes at the gym, who's going, etc., etc. A good friend of mine whom motivates me regularily came up with this awsome idea that we should be blogging about it. After all, aren't a vast majority of woman around the world struggling with the upkeep of muscle tone, weight, and most importantly our health.

Thanks Stacey for your suggestion, now I nominate you a co-blogger for this site. After all I can't be creative in writing everyday..........hahahahaha........

Everyone, can join into our conversations.

Hopefully we can motivate each other. Inform each other of good and bad routines at the various gyms we all attend. And most importantly, I look forward to health, food and beauty tips.

So here we go.............................................
